Fairfield Ends Harding's Repeat Title Hopes

(Goshen) - Unbeaten third ranked Fairfield clamped the defense on ninth ranked and defending 2A state champion Harding Friday night, and eliminated the Hawks in the first round of the playoffs 17-8.

Marquelo Suel hooked up with Roderick Smith on a 70 yard pitch and catch for a touchdown in the second quarter to put Harding in front 8-7 but the Hawks could never find the scoreboard again.
