FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The sun tried to make an appearance today, but despite its best efforts, cloudy skies dominated the day. Even with that sad truth, temperatures remained in the normal range of the 30s during the afternoon. During the weekend, we will stay cloudy, but should actually be a little milder, with highs reach the mid and upper 30s. The big story for the weekend will be the return of snow. During the day Saturday, we could see flurries and sprinkles, but the real snow will move in during the first half of Sunday. Most of the area will see snow in the range of 2-4" Sunday, with lower totals south of Fort Wayne because warmer air will keep some of the precipitation in the form of rain. Starting Sunday night (and lasting through the day Tuesday) we will see a colder air mass following the snow. During that time frame, highs will struggle to get out of the teens and low will drop into single-digits for much of the area.
