FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - It's been a pretty calm and quiet weather day, and for the next 24 hours or so that will continue to be the case. Tonight, we will stay mostly clear and Wednesday will be a mostly sunny day. Temperatures will remain chilly through this period. Overnight, lows drop into the upper single-digits, and highs Wednesday will fall shy of 30. Starting very late Wednesday night, our weather will get active as a wintry mix of precipitation returns to the region. The combination of rain, ice, and snow will stay with us through Thursday. Any accumulation will be on the minimal side (with less than an inch likely throughout our area), but that accumulation will include some ice - and it doesn't take much ice to be a real problem. Behind this system, we will see cold air in two waves. The first will take highs back into the 20s for the end of the week. The second wave moves in early next week and will keep highs in the teens, and it will take lows into single numbers.
