FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The death of a woman found inside a northwest Fort Wayne home Friday night has been ruled a homicide.

Diane Woods, 78, died of blunt force head injury, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office.

Police say the woman's son came to check on her welfare, after family members had not been able to contact the woman for a few days.

Police would not say what object, if any, had been used in the attack.

Ft. Wayne PD says it has no suspects or motive for the killing.

The crime is forcing members of a mobile home community to confront the unsettling reality that a brutal killing happened right next door.
