WESTFIELD, Ind. (21Alive) -- The suspect arrested in connection with a double homicide in Westfield was an ex-employee of the husband and father of the two victims, court documents said.
Christian Rene Haley, 20, was arrested Thursday on multiple preliminary felony charges, including two counts of murder, one count of robbery and one count of burglary.
Court documents said that Haley was a former employee of Sundown Gardens, owned by Todd Erb. Haley worked there from March 18 until he was fired by Erb on June 19 for attendance problems.
The Westfield Police Department has released images of a man they believe to be a person of interest in the double homicide that happened Friday evening.
Investigators say the double homicide was the result of a break-in robbery, and that both women died of blunt force trauma.
On Friday, police say a mother and daughter were found dead in their Westfield home just after 5 p.m.
Police responded to a call near 161st Street and Oak Park Court where it was reported a person found two bodies inside a home.
Officials have identified the two women as Marilyn Erb, 52, and Kelley Erb, 23.
Officers from the Westfield Police Department say they will be investigating the deaths as a homicide due to evidence found at the scene.
Police have asked anyone with information on the homicides to contact the Westfield Police Department at 317-773-1300 or report tips anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
