Six-Year-Old Girl Dies Near Lafayette In Arson Fire

LAFAYETTE, Ind (21Alive) - A Lafayette man, Ryan Moynagh, has been arrested on arson charges after a 6-year-old girl died in a house fire.

Tippecanoe County authorities were called to a house fire at 1 a.m. Saturday, The Lafayette Courier-Journal reports. Crews found a 6-year-old girl inside, and she was taken to a Lafayette hospital, where she later died.

Jail records show Moynagh has been a preliminarily charged with arson resulting in death, a Class A Felony. He is being held at the Tippecanoe County jail on a $500,000 bond.
