FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Steve Shine is officially re-elected as Shairman of the Allen County Republican Party.

Shine defeated his opponent, Jason Arp, Saturday at the Republican Caucus, winning 85 percent of the votes. This is the third election in his nearly 20-year-run in which he has been challenged.

Shine says he's very pleased that he was, again, re-elected, and it shows the confidence that Allen County has in the Republican Party.

“I think it's a reaffirmation of the rank and file, the grassroots of our political organization, that they are pleased with the way we are operating our Republican organization here in Allen County,” he said.

Although Shine won by a large majority, he says he didn't mind the competition from his opponent, and in fact, he considers the competition a good thing.

“I think that if we didn't have people running for office against the Incumbents, we wouldn't be able to mix up the political landscape a little bit to get some new ideas, some discussion on things that need improvement, things that are good,” he said “So by having competition its healthy and it actually keeps me as the Chairman on my toes.”

Along with Shine, voters re-elected Vice-Chairwoman Candy Fries, Treasurer Bob Lee, and Secretary Tom Rotering to their same positions as well.
