FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – At the Grand Wayne Center people took a stroll down the runway showing off styles to benefit felines—and canines—at the SPCA Cat Walk.

The 2013 theme is "Wild India" as seven area hair salons and schools compete for the top prize...bragging rights for the next year.

However, the dinner wasn't all about the spectacular, it's about raising money for all the animals at the Allen County SPCA.

All the money raised goes to spay, neuter, and microchip each animal before they're adopted, as well as take care of their bedding and food. And thanks to this annual fundraiser, SPCA Director Jessica Henry says just Saturday 15 animals were adopted.

“We have actually placed 1,000 cats and dogs in homes since Cat Walk last year, so we're very excited to set a goal of 1,000. We have actually surpassed that and we know that 2014 has even greater things in store and we really reach out to the community to help us create this kind of funding because it is critical to what we do and we're very, very grateful for it,” she said.

This year over 600 people attended the Cat Walk. It’s the third year for the fundraiser, and this year’s overall winner was Forum Salon and Day Spa. This year, INsight’s Charity Freeman hosted the event and 21Alive’s Rachel Martin was a judge.
