FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Gunfire erupts after an argument at a Fort Wayne apartment complex, and one of two people struck by bullets appears to be an innocent bystander.
At the time of this report, no arrests had been made, but city police say eyewitnesses have helped them identify a "person of interest".
According to police, 25-year old Renald Williams took two bullets to the torso after he and another man got into a dispute about two a.m. Tuesday at Eden Green Apartments in southeast Fort Wayne.
We walked into the hallway of the building where the shooting happened and you could see drops of blood on the floor.
A woman who didn't want to be identified told Indiana’s NewsCenter her friend, 23-year old Rikola Luna, was sitting in her apartment, minding her own business, when she was hit by a bullet in the wrist.
Officer Raquel Foster/Fort Wayne Police Department: " It's believed at this time that she was in her apartment unit and that she may have been struck by a stray bullet when the incident occurred and we do know that she had small children that lived in the home with her that were there at that time as well, fortunately they were not injured."
Police on Tuesday said they did not have a motive for the shootings.
Rikola Luna had surgery on her wrist and was released from medical care.
Tuesday morning, Renald Williams was reported in critical condition.
By afternoon, police could not tell us more about his condition.
