DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- A driver is in fair condition after they lost control of their Buick Rendezvous on Interstate 69.

The driver was heading south near the 339 mile marker early Sunday morning when they suddenly lost control. The vehicle rolled several times and eventually came to a rest on the drivers side, before catching fire, according to police. A passerby with a fire extinguisher was able to put out the fire before it could spread.

The driver was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center with a possible broken arm, several lacerations and abrasions, police said.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor, but the situation is still under investigation.
