FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Most women love to shop, but Saturday some women actually had an excuse.

Saturday afternoon, a group of ladies shopped ‘til they dropped at Macy’s 8th Annual Shop For A Cause.” It’s a one day shopping event that raises money for local charities.

Macy’s gave the Women's Bureau $5 shopping passes to sell, which gave women discounts on top of sales.

The money from the passes goes toward the Bureau's Dress For Success program, which helps women find the proper clothes for a job interview.

“So we have a lady out here today who loves to shop, loves Macy's—it's a win-win for Macy's and the Women's Bureau, so we're very excited about it,” said Westley Falcaro with the Women’s Bureau.

Over the past eight years, Macy’s Shop For A Cause has raised more than $46 million for local and national charities.
