FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – "Lend Me Your Ears” was the request for the annual Hearing Health Awareness Walk and Fun Fair, hosted by HearCare Connection at Freimann Square Saturday morning.
The organization serves low-income children and adults with affordable and accessible hearing healthcare.
Funds raised through the walk help provide the gift of hearing to those who could otherwise not afford it.
“Basically it's our annual fundraiser and walk for hearing health awareness, where our organization serves low-income families with hearing aids, audiology care. And as the official loop start, the mayor will be here to help us create a hearing-friendly city in Fort Wayne over the next couple of years,” said Angelina Boungou, Executive Director of HearCare Connection.
An effort is underway in Fort Wayne to have several buildings installed with hearing loops technology to assist those with hearing challenges.
