Komets & FW International Airport Make Donations To Clements Family

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - When tragedy strikes, people come together and our community did just that for a Huntington hero’s family.

We reported this week 26-year-old Chad Clements of Huntington was killed in action in Afghanistan this week.

One of our staff is friends with the family and learned they needed some help.

The family had said Chad was a huge Komets fan and they wanted that to be featured at his memorial service.

One call to Komets owner Michael Franke and the Komets donated a new red, white and blue jersey in his honor, saying the entire Komets organization offers their support.

The other big issue affecting the family is that one family member and his fiancee, who live in Alabama, had no way to get home for the funeral.

Again, it took one call to the Fort Wayne International Airport and within hours an anonymous donor came forward and took care of round trip tickets.

The family is grateful and we, here at Indiana's NewsCenter are proud to be a part of this truly caring community.
