INDIANA (21ALIVE) --- Political observers in Indiana are relishing the prospect of a blockbuster match-up in the 2016 governor's race.

It’s too early to say it will happen, but there is now talk of the potential for a showdown between Republican incumbent Mike Pence and former Democratic Governor and U.S. Senator Evan Bayh.

The leaders of the state's two main political parties are already sizing up the heavyweight in the other's corner.
