FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- There's no saying how tough it can be for a family whose child is battling a life-threatening illness. That’s why the friends of a Fort Wayne family who's been through it are "jumping" at the chance to give back.

Everyone was "Jumping for Joy” Monday afternoon, because not only was it a celebration of recovery, it's a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

"For the Make-A-Wish Foundation, there's about 300 wishes that are waiting and so this will help another family,” said friend and event coordinator Amie Lindsay.

Fifteen months ago, 8-year-old Camryn Saal was battling a rare form of brain and spinal cancer, and Make-A-Wish granted her family a Hawaiian vacation at a Disney Resort.

"I got to see lots of the characters and other stuff,” said Camryn.

But now that Camryn is cancer-free and her wish granted, it's time to pay it forward.

"When something like that affects your family, you know work and other things that you might get worked-up about on a daily basis just don't matter so...it puts it into perspective,” said Camryn’s father Andrew.

So family and friends jumped on it, and partnered with Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park, which will donate $5 for every jumper.

"I feel really excited and playful and just excited. It's just awesome that all these people can come and donate money back to Make-A-Wish,” said Camryn.

Lindsay said their goal was to raise $3,000 for the Make-A-Wish foundation. Turns out they raised more than $4,000.
