FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne Community Schools is 1500 students shy of being the largest school district in the state.
While enrollment at Fort Wayne Community remains pretty much flat, Indianapolis Public School which is the largest district in the state has steadily declined.
A spokesperson for Fort Wayne Community Schools says recent legislation passed could impact their enrollment numbers and keep them at number two.
Spokesperson Krista Stockman says, “For next year, we're really not sure what will happen, because of the Vouchers, because the potential for more charter schools in the coming years we don't know that will affect our enrollment.”
The current enrollment for Fort Wayne Community Schools stands at about 32,000 students.
