FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is actively investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning on May 4.

A Hispanic male, wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt, reportedly approached the counter at the Rickers Gas Station at 3833 S. Calhoun Street demanding money from the store clerk.

The suspect was holding a white plastic bag which appeared to contain a heavy object (believed to be an unopened bottle of Crown Royal), and threatened to injure the store clerk with it.

The suspect then fled the scene, with no loss reported to the gas station.
