ALTONA, Ind. (21Alive) – After a fire in Dekalb County, detectives have reason to suspect foul play.

Fire crews were called to the 1300 block of west Quincy Street in Altona around 5 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived they found a detached garage on fire.

Crews were able to get the fire under control, but investigators suspect foul play in what caused the blaze. Investigators say evidence shows the fire ignited in an alleyway.

Fire crews say approximately one-third of the building was damaged before the fire was brought under control.

Indiana State Fire Marshals were contacted and they're investigating further into the incident.
