FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Van Wert County Commissioners have voted to remove the county's dog warden from his duties.

Here are the disciplinary offenses:
- Failure to supply adequate food and water to the dogs.
- Failure to adequately clean the kennel and cage areas.
- Failed to secure dead animals in the facility.
- Failed to provide adequate care and attention to animals.

County Commissioner, Todd Wolfrum, tells 21Alive that six dead cats and three dead dogs were found on the property.

The vote came Thursday morning, after 21Alive broke the news of terrible living conditions at the county's dog shelter. The warden was originally placed on paid leave after the sheriff found the conditions "unacceptable."
