FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Job seekers have another opportunity to apply for a job at Carson’s Department Store, the newest addition to Glenbrook Square Mall. It’s moving in where the old Marshall Field’s used to be.

A job fair was held at the end of last week in hopes of filling 200 positions. The positions include full, part-time, and seasonal retail associates.

Store manager Michelle Irish says they received over 600 applicants during the fair, and they've already been able to fill some spots.

"We have been very pleasantly surprised with the turn out and the response that we have had. It has been awesome, just the recognition that Carson's is having from people in Fort Wayne,” said Irish.

Irish says they’re still searching for qualified applicants, though, as another fair will be held at the end of this week.

"It's quite a process to go through, going through all those applications and the interviews. We want to make sure that we're putting the best applicant in each position. We are looking for people that are friendly and who enjoy assisting others. That's the main qualification is strong service skills,” she said.

The second and final job fair will be held Thursday and Friday (Aug. 1 and 2) from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., and again on Saturday (Aug. 3) from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the old Walden’s Books location near the food court inside Glenbrook Mall. Irish says applicants can be informed of a position as early as the day they applied to a few weeks later.

The grand opening is set for Sept. 10, 2013.
