UNDATED (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - In the wake of heavy flooding around the country, the Better Business Bureau wants you to be alert for flooded cars finding their way to the used car market.

Along with buying from a reputable dealer, you're advised to check a vehicle's history using a service like Carfax.

Flood-damaged cars can have issues ranging from bad electrical systems to airbags that don't work properly.

And if it's been damaged by saltwater, the problems can be even worse.

If you're buying from a private seller, the BBB advises you to take the car to a certified technician to be checked out first.
