Bars, Clubs Cited For Illegal Super Bowl Gambling Operations

NORTHWEST, Ind. (21Alive) – Indiana State Excise Police officers cited four bars and clubs for illegal gambling related to betting on Sunday's Super Bowl.

Excise Police also seized approximately $93,000 from the bars and clubs.

Officers cited Gary Sportsman Club in Crown Point, Kenwood Tap in Hammond, Bridges Scoreboard in Griffith, and Moose Lodge 1482 in Attica.

All were cited on a preliminary charge of public nuisance for promoting professional gambling, which is a felony.

Additional criminal charges related to professional gambling, promoting professional gambling and corrupt business influence are pending in the illegal gambling operations.
