FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Just one week before his trial was to begin accused murderer Thomas Manjarez changes his plea to guilty of voluntary manslaughter.

Manjarez confessed in court Monday morning that he "shot someone and took her life".

He then admitted that person was the mother of his children, 33-year-old Carmen Ramos.

As part of Manjarez's plea agreement to voluntary manslaughter it calls for a minimum of 30-years in prison when he's sentenced July 11th.

Fort Wayne Police officers had previously testified about 2-domestic disturbances where Manjarez allegedly assaulted Ramos.

Manjarez's trial was scheduled to begin June 28th.
