BUTLER, Ind. (21Alive) - The 2013 will be quite a rebuilding year for the Eastside High School football program.
The Blazers return a total of six starters--four on offensive, two on defense--from last year's squad.
"We are starting from scratch in some areas that are very crucial to us," head coach Mike Eshbach says. "We hope that we're brining these kids up fast enough where they can pick up where we are, and we can get on the same page."
Eastside finished 6-5 in 2012, stringing together three regular season and a sectional win. The Blazers averaged 36-point victories in their six wins.
"I still think that we can score a lot of points like we have in the past few years, and play good enough defense to keep us in games," Eshbach says.
The Blazers show promise, something that can help with a team nearly starting over.
"Quite honestly, I don't think we'll know until we hit friday night for the first time," Eshbach adds.
Eastside opens with two home games versus Garrett and West Noble before heading to Angola in Week 3.
