FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - One of Fort Wayne's most storied events returned to the Three Rivers Festival on Saturday.
The Raft Race is back after a nearly 20-year absence.
Teams trickled down the St. Marys River from Swinney Park to the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge; some with hopes of prize money, others with hopes they would not be too badly sunburned.
Thousands of spectators lined the riverbanks and bridges along the way to watch the different themed floats go by.
Overnight rain delayed the return of the Raft Race by another hour, pushing the start from 11 a.m. to noon. But sunshine late in the morning made for a gorgeous day on the water.
