KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (21Alive) - The 21Alive/Parkview Sports Medicine Football Player of the Week for the second week of the season is East Noble running back/defensive back Brandon Mable.
Mable was all over the field last Friday night in the Knights' home opener versus Warsaw. Mable rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns, and returned a pair of fumbles for defensive touchdowns, too.
"Brandon is our only two-way player," head coach Luke Amstutz says. "He brings a lot of versatility. He's in great shape, he competes, he hits, he's great running the ball and equally great on defense. He brings a lot that opponents got to prepare for."
Mable has become a valuable player and a team leader in his senior season, and will be a vital person for the East Noble program moving forward.
"Leading by example," Mable says. "Always lifting the team up, because everyone makes mistakes. I've made mistakes, myself. Lifting somebody up isn't really that difficult."
Mable looks to lead the Knights to another big win this Friday when they host Homestead at 7 p.m.
