VanMeter Blast Sends TinCapsTo MWL Playoffs

BOWLING GREEN, Kent. (21 Alive) - Josh VanMeter belted a tie break three run homer in the seventh inning, leading the TinCaps to a 4-0 win Monday at Bowling Green, a win that puts the Caps in the Midwest League playoffs for the sixth straight season in the final game of the regular season.

VanMeter also drove in the other Fort Wayne with a ninth inning RBI single.

Ronald Herrera and three relievers combined on the five hit shutout, with Herrera fanning six in the first five innings to get the win.

The TinCaps open their best of three Midwest League playoff series with the West Michigan Whitecaps on Wednesday night at 7:05 at Parkview Field.

All remaining games of the series will be played at Comstock Park, Michigan.
