FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - The number 19 Snider baseball jersey of former Panther coach Andy Owen was retired Saturday in ceremonies prior to the Snider-Canterbury doubleheader.

The ceremony was part of Andy Owen Day at Hawley Field.

Canterbury went on to win the opener 6-2, Snider taking the nightcap 4-2.

Owen, a Snider assistant for six seasons before beginning his 19 year run as head coach, was 376-156 with eight Summit Athletic Conference championships, five sectional titles, and in 2006 and 2009, his teams won regionals, semistates and the 4A state title.
