FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Bobby Chaumont notched a pair of goals and Colin Chaulk had a goal and four assists to lead the Komets to their 6-2 win over Dayton Sunday night, a win that clinched first place in the Central Hockey League Turner Conference on the final day of the regular season.
Kaleigh Schrock, Chris Auger, and Tom Mele also scored for the K's who now open play in a best of seven series with Rapid City in South Dakota next Friday night despite being the top seed, because the Memorial Coliseum is unavailable.

This award honors the memory of Cliff and Jean Fell, Jim and William Fell, and Pat Curtis, long-time Komet fans. The Komets "Mr. Hustle" award takes into account a player’s personal statistics (goals, assists, on-ice hits at home) and a player's overall up-tempo style of game.

Unsung Hero Award
This is the "5/30" award in tribute to Robbie Irons and Terry Pembroke, two longtime Komet players and members of the Komet Hall of Fame. This award is given to the player whose hard work, dedication to his teammates and love of the game is in the true spirit of Komet legends Robbie Irons and Terry Pembroke.
