IPFW Out At NCAA Softball Regional (VIDEO)

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (www.incnow.tv) - IPFW was eliminated in their first ever NCAA Sotball Tournament berth Saturday, falling to 16th ranked UCLA 8-0 in a loser's bracket game.

The loss ends the season for IPFW with a 34-16 overall record.

IPFW's Miranda Kramer and UCLA's Jessica Hall battling pitch-for-pitch through the first four innings of the ballgame, with Kramer striking out four through four innings while allowing two hits in the span.

The Bruins ended the pitchers duel in the top of the fifth inning when Allexis Bennett singled up the middle before stealing second base, and scoring on a Stephany LaRosa single, putting the visitors on the scoreboard ahead 1-0.

The lead grew to 2-0 in the sixth inning with a Devon Lindvall two-out solo home run, and then UCLA blew the game open wth six runs in the seventh.

IPFW managed just three hits in the game, and scored just one run in their two losses.
