IPFW Men, Women Drop Decisions To UMKC

UNDATED (www.incnow.tv) - UMKC dealt IPFW basketball a double barrel of defeat Saturday, winning both men's and women contests between the two schools.

The IPFW men held UMKC to just seven points over the final five minutes of the game, but could only scoret one point themselves over that period to take their first home loss of the season 63-59.

Frank Gaines led IPFW with 17 points, while Mario Hines scored 13 and Joe Reed 10.

The Mastodons fell to 9-12 and 2-5 in the Summit League.

Estan Tyler scored a game-high 19 points for UMKC.

In Kansas City, the Lady Dons dropped to 6-13 overall and 2-5 in the Summit League with a 77-59 loss at to UMKC, shooting just 36 percent from the field compared to 63 percent for the Kangaroos.

Erin Murphy led IPFW with 22 points, while Stefanie Mauk finished the game with eleven points and Amanda Hyde and Haley Seibert each added nine.
