SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA (www.incnow.tv) - IPFW's men won their sixth straight game, and their 2013 Summit League Tournament opener with a 91-72 win over Oakland Sunday night, completing a three game series sweep over the Golden Grizzlies.
The win evens IPFW's record at 16-16 on the season, and creates the team's best ever six-game win streak, the largest in the program's Division One era..
Frank Gaines scored a game high 23 points, while Luis Jacobo added 18 and Michael Kibiloski 15, each of them hitting four three pointers.

IPFW hit 30-of-48 shots from the field in the game (62.5%), the first team to shoot better than 60 percent since Oakland accomplished the feat against IPFW in 2009 in the league semifinal. IPFW also hit 12-of-20 from long range, the fourth-most made three-point baskets in Summit League tournament history, while becoming the first team since 2007 to shoot better than 60 percent from beyond the arc.
The Mastodons meet North Dakota State Monday night in the semifinals.
