FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- The Senior point guard and floor leader of the Homestead Lady Spartans, Jena Hamrick, is the choice as this week's Indiana's NewsCenter girls basketball player of the week.

Signed to play at Coastal Carolina next season, Jena is doing the things that have homestead off to their 7-0 start.

That includes her near triple double of 17 points, ten assists and nine rebounds against New Haven last Friday night.

She had 14 points, six assists and nine boards against Dwenger.

Jena can score, but her priority is the make the passes that let her capable teammates take on more of the scoring load.

Averaging about eleven points seven assists and seven rebounds a game, Jena is a court smart player who opponents have to respect for each of the skills she brings to the floor

Rod wanted Jena to have fun this senior season because the team would succeed as a result, and so far, it looks like both things have been happening.
