Canterbury Repeats As 1A Boys State Soccer Champs

INDIANAPOLIS (www.incnow.tv) - Canterbuy built a 4-0 first half lead and cruised to a 5-0 win over Covenant Christian of Indianapolis Saturday, gaining the Cavaliers their second straight 1A state boys soccer title, and fifth state championship in program history.

Jaob Fritz, Rece Buckmaster, Spencer Heller, and Cole Walker each scored goals in the opening 40 minutes, and Shane Crines finished the offensive explosion in the second half.

Goalie Chase Walker turned aside all four shots he faced.

Canterbury senior defender Chase Moyle won the Mental Attitude Award.

The Cavaliers will be honored with a rally in the Canterbury gym Monday at 2pm.
