LEO-CEDARVILLE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Leo High School football team looks to get the bad taste of an early sectional exit out of their mouth in 2013.

The Lions finished 7-2, clinching a share of their fourth straight Allen County Athletic Conference Championship. But a 14-7 loss at Garrett is something Leo won't forget while moving on.

Up front, Leo is big and experienced on both sides of the line of scrimmage with Logan Glaze and Bryce Haggard leading the way.

"We're looking to take that offensive line and defensive line say that they're what we're going to hang our hat on, especially early on in the season," head coach Jared Sauder says.

Running backs Rance Harris and Logan Leiter will look for big holes to run through to get the offense going as Jordan Hissong grows as a quarterback.

"We have skill players, but a lot of them are new," Glaze says. "O-line is going to have to protect us, and show us the way for a little bit until they get their foot on the ground."

Eighteen seniors look to keep the the Lions in a the hunt for another ACAC title and this time make the postseason run a little bit longer.

"In past years, we've done great at coming out and being strong right away," lineman David Hepler says. "Hopefully it picks up where we usually are."

Leo opens at Norwell on Aug. 23, and will really be tested at home Sept. 23 against Bishop Luers.
