Miami Boys & Shawnee Girls Win Middle School City Basketball Titles (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Some potential future high school basketball stars had their moments to shine Wednesday afternoon the the boys and girls middle school championships at South Side High School.

The boys game featured the Miami Indians against the Lakeside Lancers. Miami would pull away down the stretch, claiming the Middle School Boys Basketball City Championship, 76-69.

The girls city championship came down to the wire between Miami and the Shawnee Lady Braves. Shawnee pulled out the victory with go-ahead free throws from Ariel Thatcher. The Lady Braves won 37-36.
