FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A Snider High School girls cross country runner is a finalist for a national award dedicated to athletic, academic and community achievement.
Senior Kaitelyn Vachon is one of ten finalists for the U.S. Army-Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence.
Vachon was recognized at halftime of the football game against North Side with a special ceremony, where Pro Football Hall of Famer Rod Woodson presented her with a plaque.
"It's for a special young lady who has done some wonderful things in her life," Woodson told the crowd at Spuller Stadium, where Woodson once starred for Snider. "She's got so much more to look forward to."
