FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Bishop Luers and Northrop were the two remaining Summit Athletic Conferences without a league loss going into tonight's how down at Luers.

2A No. 6 Luers (9-3) was looking to avenge a SAC Holiday Tournament loss to Northrop on Dec. 30.

The 4A No. 3 Bruins (12-1) were the only unbeaten team statewide in their class going into tonight's action.

And for both teams, the SAC lead was at stake.

Luers forward Jaylon Smith rose to the occasion, scoring 34 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Knights. His performance was compounded with two football scholarship offers from Iowa and Michigan earlier in the day. Additionally, Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco was in attendance to watch the multi-sport star.

Luers head coach James Blackmon Sr. spoke with Tommy Schoegler and AWP Director of Operations Scott Zeigler about Smith's outstanding performance Friday night, and the big win for the Knights.
