FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - When Bishop Luers forfeited Wednesday their Sept. 2 win at South Side, the Summit Athletic Conference tightened up heading into the bulk of the league schedule.
North Side, undefeated in the conference, assumed the top spot in the SAC. And familiar front-runners Bishop Dwenger, Bishop Luers and Snider are all tied for second with one league loss.
That makes for an interesting remainder of the schedule. North Side and Dwenger both have yet to play Luers and Snider; and Snider and Dwenger will meet, too.
The closure of Elmhurst and Harding could give the biggest influence those schools have had on the SAC race in nearly a decade. Less schools makes each game more important.
At this point, any of those four schools could be ringing the Victory Bell at the end of the regular season.
