Luers Wins First: Concordia, Heritage, Churubusco, Woodlan Advance

UNDATED (21 Alive) - Bishop Luers scored its first win of the season in its playoff opener Friday night, while Concordia, Heritage, Churubusco, and Woodlan also moved to the second round of the high school football playoffs.

Noah Wezensky tossed two touchdown passes, and Austin Mack caught eight balls for a Luers school record 203 yards receiving yards as the Knights blasted West Noble 41-3.

Luers will play at Heritage in the 3A second round.

The Patriots outlasted Garrett 41-38 As Branson Dossen hit Conner Bleke with a pair of touchdown passes and ran for two additional scores.

Noah Follett ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third for Garrett.

David Morrison fired three touchdown passes and Jon Poore rambled for 257 yards and a touchdown to highlight Concordia's 28-14 3A win at Lakeland.

The Cadets travel to Bellmont in 3A next week.

Kane Johnson ran for 189 yards and a touchdown while Cody Conwell scored twice with 131 rushing yards and Churubusco snapped a two game slide with a 28-13 win over Eastside in 2A.

The Eagles head to Bremen next week.

Woodlan got 290 rushing yards and three touchdowns in about a half of work from Jaylin Bennett and cruised to a 57-26 romp over Central Noble.

The Warriors host Prairie Heights in 2A next week.
