FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - NASCAR/IndyCar driver John Andretti, Kroger and General Mills will hold the 15th annual Race for Riley next week.
The three-day fundraiser raises money for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. To date, the event has raised $1.6 million for Riley. Andretti says the Race for Riley event is poised to break the $2 million this year.
The three-day event features Andretti and friends visiting kids at Riley Children Hospital in Indiana on Monday, a dinner and auction Tuesday at the Westin in Indianapolis, and a celebrity go-kart race on Wednesday at New Castle Motorsports Park.
Indiana's NewsCenter's Tommy Schoegler will compete race.
To donate to the Race for Riley event, buy any Twin Pack of General Mills brand cereal at Kroger stores, and $1 from each purchase goes to Riley.
Also, donate $1 or more for a Riley balloon, and customers receive $3 in General Mills coupons.
Andretti says the Fort Wayne area consistently leads the way in Riley balloons.
