FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A year after the International Hockey League joined with the Central Hockey League, significant changes were made to the CHL last weekend.
The loss of Bossier-Shreveport, Colorado, Odessa, Quad City leaves the CHL with 14 franchises. Of those 14 teams, 8 (4 from each conference) will make the playoffs. Last year, all 16 teams made the postseason.
Each round will be a best-of-seven series.
The CHL schedule stays at 66 games, but the timeframe in which the games are played is one week shorter.
Komets president Michael Franke discusses the changes for the league with Tommy Schoegler and Dean Pantazi on Sound Off.
