FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - One of professional wrestling's biggest stars in the 1990s will be at a Northeast Indiana wrestling event this Saturday night in Grant County.

Kevin Nash will face local wrestler Mark Vandy in the main vent of Extreme Wrestling Federation's Diesel Powered at The Borderman Gym in Converse.

Kevin Nash is remembered for his days in the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) and World Championship Wrestling, using names like "Diesel," "Vinnie Vegas," "Big Sexy" and "Oz." Nash has won six world heavyweight championships in his career.

Now, Nash is on the independent circuit, helping young men and women breaking into the professional wrestling business. All the while, Nash tries to keep himself at the top of his game.

"I broke in, like, live on national television," Nash told Dean Pantazi and The Journal Gazette's Ben Smith on Sound Off. "I never had a chance to do any independent circuits. I never had a chance to basically have the career most guys have when they break in."

Nash says he likes the smaller local shows, because he can see the very fans who help made him a star.

"It's like watching the move, The Wrestler. You're doing it more for the love of the game at that point; as more of an appreciation," he said.

Nash will hold a wrestling clinic for the up-and-coming wrestlers before the event.

For more information on Nash's match and the entire EWF Diesel Powered card on Sat., June 16, go to EWFArena.com. Bell time is at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
