FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne TinCaps have embedded themselves as a part of the community. The relationship the team has with Fort Wayne goes far beyond the nine innings of play on the Parkview Field grass.

The TinCaps have teamed up with Parkview Health Group and Canser Services of Northeast Indiana this week to promote prostate cancer awarness.

Tuesday night, the 'Caps wore special blue and white uniforms to show their support men getting regular cancer check-ups. The jerseys were auctioned off with proceeds going to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.

Men, 40 years old and older, were given PSA tests at the Lincoln Financial Event Center at Parkview Field.

"It's important for everybody to go out and get tested," TinCaps Broadcast & Media Relations Manager told Dean Pantazi on Sound Off With The TinCaps presented by Northern Indiana-Ohio Chevy Dealers. "Because, sometimes, you just don't know."

Couzens also talked to Pantazi about the homestretch of the regular season, as the TinCaps try to clinch a playoff spot.
