FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne TinCaps enter the homestretch of the season with a narrow lead in the Midwest League's Eastern Division.

With the call-up of Adys Portillo, Frank Garces has assumed the top spot in the TinCaps' pitching rotation.

Garces has won 8 of his last 9 starts, not losing since June.

Mike Couzens, play-by-play voice for the 'Caps, says the team the second half of the season.

That pitching could be the lead for the TinCaps looking to make the playoffs.

"You play 140 games in 152 days." Couzens said on Sound Off With The TinCaps presented by Northern Indiana-Ohio Chevy Dealers. "The natural human instinct is for your body to wane. They're young. They have that energy. They have that enthusiam."
