BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The TinCaps closed out the regular season with a doubleheader split at Bowling Green on Monday, and will add pitchers Brandon Alger and Joe Ross for the postseason.

Bowling Green took Monday's opener 5-4, but in the game, Yeison Asencio of the TinCaps had a hit in two at bats and won the Midwest League batting title with a .323 average, becoming the first Fort Wayne player ever to win the title.

Mike Gallic and Lee Orr each drove in two runs in the 5-2 Fort Wayne win in the nightcap, Orr hitting the TinCaps' first homer since August 17th.

The TinCaps now face Lansing in the opener of their best of three playoff series at Parkview Field Wednesday night, with two pitchers expected to be added to the roster.

One is lefty Brandon Alger, the former Leo and Indiana Tech star drafted by the San Diego Padres in June.

The other is righthander Joe Ross, the Padres' first round pick in 2011.

Both will come from Eugene, where they were pitching well.
