COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (21 Alive) - The West Michigan Whitecaps took a 2-1 win over the TinCaps Sunday in the rubber game of a three-game series.

West Michigan starter Kevin Ziomek kept Fort Wayne off the scoreboard for the first eight innings on Sunday, limiting the TinCaps to three hits and walked none while striking out six.

The Whitecaps took the lead with two runs in the second on a wild pitch and an infield out.

A run scoring double by Fernando Perez with two out in the ninth inning allowed Fort Wayne to avert a shutout.

The TinCaps open a four game series with the Great Lakes Loons at Parkview Field on Monday night.
