OXNARD, Calif. (21Alive) - Anthony Spencer's recovery from knee surgery last season continues with another setback.
The Dallas Cowboys placed Spencer, a defensive end out of Bishop Luers High School and Purdue University, on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Spencer had microfracture knee surgery in October, only playing one game for the Cowboys.
Spencer will be able to practice once medically cleared. If Spencer is on the PUP list at the start of the regular season, he must remain on PUP for 3 to 6 weeks.
Spencer was the first-round draft pick for the Cowboys in 2007. He had a career-high 11 sacks in 2012-13 season.
