OAKLAND, California (www.incnow.tv) - Former Norwell star Jarrod Parker was in less pain Sunday after leaving Saturday's game with St. Louis the fourth inning with tightness in his right hamstring.

Parker, pitching for Oakland against St. Louis, went down in pain after delivering a pitch that Allen Craig belted off the left field wall for a double.

Parker, who was sailing along having allowed no runs and two hits with three strikeouts, tried a few pitches before it was decided he was done for the day.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Sunday Parker was in less pain, but that a determination on if he makes his next scheduled start Thursday or Friday will come more into focus when Parker throws on the side Tuesday.
