NEW YORK, NY (21 Alive) - The NBA Development League has announced that the protested game between the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and Texas Legends, which began on Nov. 22 at Texas, will be resumed on Jan. 7, 2014 at approximately 9:35 p.m. PT, following the conclusion of the day’s Showcase contests in Reno, Nev.
The game will resume play with 0.9 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the score tied at 99. Fort Wayne will in-bound the ball in the back court, at the foul line extended, and will be shooting in front of Texas’ bench. With the resumption, both teams will be in the penalty, and Texas will have one timeout remaining.
The Mad Ants originally protested the game after an incorrect technical foul was assessed to the team following an error by the official scorer pertaining to the number of time outs the Mad Ants had remaining. As a result of the technical foul, Texas was awarded a free throw, which Chris Douglas-Roberts made to give the Legends a 100-99 lead and possession of the ball with 0.9 seconds remaining in the game
